Kindle Euphoria

This is my opinion on the books I read. Remember, don't take it personally and don't get all shitty with me over it.  I don't bash the author personally unless the author has bashed the shit out of me and yes one has. So I will bash Madeline Sheehan forever. Otherwise if a book sucks it doesn't mean the person sucks, I've had books I loved and hated by the same author before, it happens. Not everything will please everyone. This is only my opinon and how these particular books made me feel.

My account was removed from GR so at the moment I'm severely lacking in reviews and books but rest assured for the 2013 year I've read over 300 books.

Five Golden Rings - Jeffe Kennedy

Five Golden Rings (Facets of Passion) - Jeffe Kennedy

4 Sexy Pervy Time Stars
ARC Provided by NetGalley

The Summary -

On the first day of Christmas, my lover gave to me...

Matilda Campbell's plans to spend Christmas solo in the sun take an erotic turn when she encounters the handsome and enigmatic Miguel D'Oro on the plane to Mexico. As the CEO of a major firm, Tilda's used to being the one in charge--but now she'll have to learn how to take orders instead.

In the spirit of the season, Miguel offers Tilda naughty gifts for each of the twelve days of Christmas. There's just one rule: she must accept them--and fulfill his commands--or face the sensual consequences. Intrigued and aroused, Tilda agrees to let Miguel take control of her pleasure.

What follows is a week unlike anything she's ever experienced. From choosing her sexy new wardrobe and naughty accessories, to pushing her boundaries with BDSM play, Miguel satisfies every forbidden craving. But as their time together runs out, she must decide if there's room in her real life for her holiday lover and her newly discovered kinky side.

Ok, the blurb really makes you want to read this book and it is kink during the holiday season, so it's festive kink. Very enjoyable as well as makes you feel cozy and perverted. What better feeling is there? Right?
This book begins with Tilda on her way to Mexico for a vacation that was supposed to be taken with her dumbass cheating bastard boyfriend who bailed on her. She decided to go anyway and take the vacation alone and try to enjoy herself for a bit. On the way there in the plane as she's trying to drown her sorrows in margarita's she ends up talking to a very handsome business man. He is a super hot mexican man named Miguel who she soon finds out is the owner of the hotel she is going to be staying at. He asks her for dinner and she soon agrees. Why the hell not? She deserves the attention of a hot man after what she's been through.
Miguel uses his sexy accent and asks Tilda if she'll agree to 12 days of Christmas with him in which they explore some kink together and she's completely attracted to him and her vadge is a burning inferno of Miguel at this point so she agrees. He begins his 12 days of gifts and BDSM. Hey, I see no flaws with this plan whatsoever. They explore and do some pretty hot scenes together.
This story was a well written quick read. It was an easy read and pretty steamy. This is a great beach vacation read or even snowy holiday read as it does take place at Christmas time. This one might get you and your partner lucky, so everyone wins. I enjoyed the writing style and the story line. The ending was left open ended which has a tendancy to drive me cray cray, but with all that sex, I know they got an HEA. It was sort of leading that way. Enjoy!

Making Faces - Amy Harmon

Making Faces - Amy Harmon

All the Damn Stars in the Universe

I finished reading this yesterday and my poor boyfriend kept asking me what was wrong. I couldn't tell him because I was sobbing but I was trying to be quiet about it but was doing a horrible job. He thought I had hurt myself or was in physical pain, he was absolutley worried about me. Although they were happy tears at the end of the book, they were absolutely heart wrenching. The book is amazing. I want a physical copy of this book so that I may have it to read over and over again. I don't do that with many books at all.
The way everything in the book was interwoven was stunningly done. The writing was phenomenal and the storyline was amazing. It was like watching an awesome lifetime movie but this book is too good of a storyline for Lifetime or Oxygen or those saptastic love story/hate men networks. They absolutely blow but still manage to make you feel sort of good with the corny stories, but this made me feel amazing afterwards.
All I know after reading this book is that, there is love in the world, miracles can happen, beauty is absolutely in the eye of the beholder, and love can save the world. Yes! I believe! Now let me pull my head out of the author's ass for a minute and talk a bit about the story before shoving it back in there. Hey, I'm cold and its warm up there. Don't hate.
This book could have turned out to be one of those ugly duckling stories that we've all read and even Disney has tried making movies about but it had so many things added to the story that made it just blossom and grow. Fern as a child looked like Pippi Longstocking. She had buck teeth, flaming red hair, freckles for days, was always smaller than all the kids and was the consumate late bloomer. She was in love her whole life with the hottest boy in school who was tall, handsome, could sing like an angel, and had the world ahead of him with his wrestling which he excelled at.
Fern loved Ambrose not because he was handsome, tall, and the strong silent type, but because deep down he was a sensitive soul. He helped bury a spider he killed on accident when Fern, Bailey, and Ambrose were kids and felt bad for doing so. He helped Fern sing a song for the beautiful dead spider and Fern would love him always for being so caring.
Bailey is Fern's cousin who is slowly getting sicker the older he gets. Bailey has Muscular Dystrophy and is dealing with it the best he can. Fern helps out with Bailey often and helps as his body slowly betrays him and begins deteriorating. Fern is always there to give a helping hand and make sure Bailey is taken care of and wants for nothing.
The 3 lives of Fern, Bailey, and Ambrose intertwine after Ambrose is discharged from the military and comes home after being seriously injured in a landmine explosion. Ambrose comes home a changed man and doesn't know how to deal with the change to his face and the terrible loss of his 4 best friends. The boys joined the military together and luckily enough were able to stay together on their assignments. The boys were always together and knew everything about each other.
I don't even know how to do this book justice. I'm sure a hundred other reviews have gone in depth and given details and spoilers on this book, but that's just not my style. I hate to know what's going to happen in books I read and shows and movies I watch, so I'm not going to give anything fantastic away about this book either. This book is one that needs to be experienced by everyone. It will help bring out every emotion in you. You'll find yourself giggling like an idiot and crying for every reason you can cry. It's well worth the time you take to read this. Enjoy!

Everything Bared (Six Alarm Sexy 2) - Kristine Cayne

Everything Bared (Six-Alarm Sexy, #2) - Kristine Cayne

This is going to be short and sweet because I'm so freaking tired and I am in a rush to head to bed.

The second book in this series was way better than the first. That annoying bitch in the first book was good at making me want to throw shit. In this book the heroine is the complete opposite and not a total idiot.

I gave it a half star rating lower because of the abrupt ending. WTF is up with the abrupt endings? I don't care if it's 10 years into the future at the end of each book in a series, I want to hear about that happy ending instead of guessing.

I'd recommend reading this book to those who enjoy the kinky side of books.

The Lies of Locke Lamore (Gentleman Bastard 1) - Scott Lynch

The Lies of Locke Lamora - Scott Lynch

This was a pretty amazing book. This is much like an epic book, It would be too long to be a movie but it would be a great TV series. Can't wait to read the next one. This book only took forever to read because it seems to be a family attractor. They bug the shit out of me when I want to settle in and read this.

Amazing writing as well.

[Reblog] Bullying

Reblogged from Lyndi:

So everyone is overly sensitive about bullying these days. Not to say bullying isn't a serious issue, but that it's become the go-to word to use for any behavior that isn't positive. If you're rude to somebody, you're a bully. If you strongly express your disagreement with somebody, you're a bully. If you get your friends to express their disagreement, you're all bullies.

Bullying is tormenting somebody. It's actively trying to hurt somebody and force an emotional reaction. It's browbeating. Harassment. Intimidation. It's a form of domination, to belittle and aggressively insult.

Simply "not being nice" is not bullying.

So when I turn on the fucking Disney channel and see kids in high school actively bullying each other, I'm appalled. It's not being used as a teaching tool, showing kids how bullying is hurtful and wrong. No no, this is supposed to be funny. Repeatedly humiliating your school mate so that she looks ridiculous in front of her new friends and they abandon her... Well, that's just fucking hil-ar-ious. And then it's even funnier when she retaliates and humiliates her tormentor. In front of the principal of the school, who does nothing. Sooo funny! And the next episode was just as funny - a kid doses another kid with an insanely dangerous amount of adrenaline so they can win the P.E. challenge! Drugging high schoolers is obviously entertainment in it's highest form!

As somebody that grew up watching Disney, I am fully aware of how kids and teenagers look up the characters on these shows. They have the coolest clothes, the latest gadgets, and Disney makes a concentrated effort to make these kids enviable. The kids watching these shows are going to mimic the behavior they see.

There is no punishment. There are no apologies. There are no lessons to be learned. Except that Disney seems to think that bullying is really funny.

A Powerful Statement About Goodreads Censorship [Reblog]

Reblogged from My Reading Nook:

I have to share this review with all of you.  It addresses the Goodreads censorship policy, and is written by a teenager named Nour Sharif living in the middle east.

Here is just a quote I took from it. (Or you can Read her full review)

"Let me tell you something maybe a lot of you people are not aware of. We, people who live in the Middle East, look up towards the west, where presumably, everyone is free to say and do whatever they want, bounded by no tradition or religious law whatsoever. But when this kind of law is forced upon everyone from the west itself, we lose hope. We lose hope that anything will be good again. And well for someone (me), who has suffered a lot because of that (Facebook only made my freedom of speech more restricted), I found a haven for myself in Goodreads, where apparently no one gives a fuck whether you insult or disagree with them because well, they don’t care. And because they are mature enough to ignore any insults under the pretext that it is “your opinion”.

Grammar Carnage! + awkward sentences (logic is hard)

Reblogged from AnHeC (I'm too fucking busy and vice versa):
Real - Katy Evans

Example of awkward: "She grabs my face and swings my gaze in the direction of the ring, but I start laughing instead"

EDIT (because I just can't ignore it...): Just after thinking about how she's different from her friend, that she doesn't chase guys, doesn't date and doesn't want to date:

"He has black hair, standing up sexily as if women have just had their fingers there. Cheekbones as strong as his jaw and forehead. Lips that are red-kissed and swollen, and as a souvenir from his walk to the ring there's lipstick on his jaw. I look down his long, lean body and something hot and wild settles in my core".

There are so many things wrong with this one little paragraph... Eh. Do I need to discuss it? Nah. You can deal with it on your own.

"Hammer throws the first punch. Remington evades it with a smart duck, and he comes back up with a full swing that connects and knocks Hammer’s face to the side. I inwardly flinch at the power in his punch; my body clenches at the sight of his muscles contracting and tensing, working and releasing, with each punch he delivers."

"As the fight progresses, my nipples strain, even more puckered and tighter, against my top, pushing anxiously against the silk of the fabric. Somehow watching Remington Tate pound a man (now that's ambiguous) they call “Hammer” makes me squirm in my skirt in a way I don’t like, much less ever expected." ( I won't underline everything that's wrong, since that would be... Everything.)

WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOUR GRAMMAR?! WHAT'S WRONG WITH REPETITIONS, AWKWARD STRUCTURES, ILLOGICAL REACTIONS...

I can't. Not a single coherent paragraph in sight. (I'm laughing non-stop)

Reblogged from AnHeC (I'm too fucking busy and vice versa):
Real - Katy Evans

 5% or something...

"God, I can't even breathe right, and I'm as coiled up as a cobra in a corner of the back seat of a taxi, staring  blindly out the window at the passing city lights, desperate to vent from the sensations spinning inside my body" Let's take a moment to appreciate sheer absurdity of this sentence.

I can't post updates. Don't even know how I'll review this book. Normally I'd choose the worst quotes and events, but in this case it's impossible. I'd have to quote the whole fucking thing. LITERALLY (and I mean literally-literally).

She knows he got banned from official sport (for brutality and shit) and is a bit worried about her unnatural reaction to the guy. What does her friend say?

"Okay, seriously, you need to get out more. Remingron Tate may have a bad rap, but he's sexier than sin, Brooke. Yes, he was banned for poor conduct because he's naughty, wicked boy. Look, who knows what shit went on in his personal life? All I know is it was god-awful and made a couple of headlines, and now nobody even cares. He's the favorite in the Underground League, and all kinds of fight clubs adore him. They're packed with girls when he's on."

Also, I have no idea in what world is getting cornered by an aggressive stranger, grabbed by the neck and kissed against your will "like porn with the romance".

5 Awesome Navy SEAL Stars
ARC Provided by NetGalley

It took me a while to read this book because life kept getting in the way. It's like the world didn't want me to read this awesome book. I loved this book from start to finish. There were times I was ready to strangle Captain Morgan. Ha, drinking joke. She was a pain in the ass stubborn butthole at times but she was a strong woman and was a completely amazing character. I want more characters like this in the books I read. I love it!
Yes Jake was the absolute hotness wrapped in sex, topped with a dollop of super human warrior. Uh yeah, he was alpha male awesome. Ladies, put a belt on your panties to hold them up. Well, if that's your intention anyways, otherwise, freeball it all you want. (Yeah, what's the womanly version of freeball? I don't know either, freeovaries? I'm not typing the other one I thought of.)
Yes, the book cover whore in me, completely fell for the cover. It does help give a fantasmagoric visual of the hotness that is Jake Ramsey. It in no way matters. I've learned with other books with amazing covers but super stupid story lines that were pulled out of a donkey's ass. This book was well researched and amazingly written. The author somehow created this super realistic storyline of the drama that goes on in a persons mind when they're being shot at and the feelings they endure and the hardships of going out into the life of a Navy SEAL sniper.
Jake and Morgan had been off again, on again lovers for 10 years when this story begins. It begins with Jake and Morgan running into each other at the Pentagon to go to a secret meeting for a black op mission. They both end up going into the same office and waiting to discuss their new missions. They each meet with a separate General and find out that they'll be working together on a mission that Morgan desperately wanted to be a part of. Jake's name was chosen at random by the computer because of his experience and abilities. They can't turn the job dow or it'd mean a discharge from the military for both of them so they must go through with it and soon they head out Afghanistan.
Jake and Morgan never really knew anything about each other's pasts and both just always ended up having sex when they came together. Jake doesn't know that he has a daughter with Morgan who's now 2 years old. Morgan had a miscarriage with her first child that belonged to Jake and didn't want anything to do with him but some years later, she ended up sleeping with him again. They've always loved each other, it was just never the right time for either of them. They both had gotten married and lost their spouses but neither knew about the other's marriage. Morgan didn't know Jake had a child also from a previous marriage.
They start to come together on this mission in Afghanistan and somehow survive an attack that they never should have come out of alive and soon their relationship takes a major turn. They both realize they wanted to be with each other after Morgan gets seriously injured. She's ready to tell him about his daughter but he's soon sent away on another mission because his injuries healed up pretty fast. He's gone for a month on another dangerous mission.
This story did end up with a HEA. I'm still a sucker for those. I love how they came together and got their shit straight. We all know 2 people who should be together but avoid it for whatever reasons and it frustrates the hell out of you because they're perfect for each other. Yeah, that's Jake and Morgan. You want to lock them in a room until everything is straight with them and they figure it out. I swear they're both clueless. Jake is the perfect romantic, in his words and in his opening his heart to Morgan and his daughter. He will make you swoon if you like a man who's tough but sensitive and honest and loving and yes, caring.
Ok I'm going to go swoon some more over here. Go read this book. Enjoy!

Menage on 34th Street - Elise Logan & Emily Ryan-Davis

Menage on 34th Street - Elise Logan, Emily Ryan-Davis

4 Hot & Sexxy Stars
ARC Provided by NetGalley
It never fails! Never!! Books that you WANT to be longer, are too short, and books that need to be shorter are 400 pages longer. Why?! I'll never get it. It must not be for me to understand. This book was well written and it was a hot read. A lot of authors wrtie erotica and they suck at it, the smexy scenes fall short, but this was hoTTT! I didn't expect it to be. I've become so disenchanted with erotica books lately. They've become bland. Didn't know it was possible. I thought it was my vadge, but nope, it was the quality of books I've been reading obviously. Need to look for better books now.
This was a short story about a married couple who have an open marriage of sorts. They both enjoy threesome's with other men. Something has always been missing in their marriage though. They've always loved another man that Kat was head over heels in love with who ran off to join the Marines. He wanted her to go with him only she never knew this. Liam, Kat's husband, decided to keep the note that Hunter left for Kat. He knew Kat wouldn't be able to deal with only one man and that it was soon break her spirit. He made the choice for her by taking it away from her and staying with her and giving her what she's always wanted in life, more than one man to please her.
Hunter comes back to town and Liam tricks Hunter into coming to their home to talk by saying that Kat wasn't at home. They end up facing the lies they all kept from each other and having some pretty hot menage scenes. They do have a short rough patch but since this is a novella and has to be kind of quick about things, it goes through the drama pretty fast.
All in all this is a pretty hot short, little read for the holidays. This book might put you in the holiday spirit or in some kind of great spirit. I do wish the book had been longer and we could have seen more of the threesome getting through some rough patches and out the other side. I'd recommend this for those who have no problem with m/m and menage scenes. You'd enjoy it.

Summary-
To save a kingdom, Zara must choose between a prince who could be the answer and a rising rebellion that threatens to take control.

When Zara Dane is chosen to marry Prince Sebastian Hart, son of the man who ordered her father’s capture, Zara knows she must fight to save everything she loves from ruin.

Being betrothed to the prince means a life trapped behind the towering stone walls of the Camelot-forged realm. Under the watchful eye of the prince's first knight, Sir Devlan Capra, changing her future becomes difficult.

When an unlikely rebel reveals the truth about the deadly secrets that fuel King Hart’s twisted world, Zara’s path to rescue her father becomes clouded by deception. The Rebels clear her path by forcing Zara’s hand with an ultimatum: sway Prince Sebastian to join the Rebels, convincing him of his father’s evil nature, or they will take him out.

But Zara is uncertain about a future under the Rebels’ command and where the prince’s heart truly lies. She must decide who to trust, what to believe, and what she’s truly fighting for before the king destroys all of Karm, including her heart.

Uh huh.

The problems in this book are many. I hated this book up until the action picked up. The twist at the end with the battle was one I didn't see coming and was a smart move on the author's part. That's the part of the book that got the 3 stars from me. It was well written and I felt involved in the book at that point. The whole entire way I was annoyed and pissed off at the heroine. She annoyed me worse than people with the stupid. Oh wait.....
I know how stubborn teenagers can be. Thinking back to my youth I was one of the worst. This one here, she wasn't just stubborn, she was also stupid. She was a pampered princess who had everything handed to her, even her ideals were handed down from her father.
With all the realness attempted in the book to keep to a plausible reality with the scientific approach to the ending of the world, the sickness, the way the city was imprisoned by an electrical grid to keep people in and mutated monster's out, it damn sure bugged the shit out of me that Zara became this super warrior woman with stamina to fight seasoned and weaponed guards with years of experience, in only a month's time. It annoyed me that the only explanation given was she was a natural. WTF? Even a natural would need more time than that. She went from a wimpy idiotic girl to a warrior with strength, stamina, and fighting abilities to take down grown men who's sole purpose in life was battle. Really? I need to be convinced and this shit just pissed me off.
She was so stubborn in the beginning of the book when she was chosen to marry the jackass prince Sebastian, the only thing she wanted was to escape. She had no plan, no training, she didn't know how to ride a horse, she didn't know how to use the knife she had. She was clueless and dumb. Her weakness annoyed me and it could have been turned around if only she was properly trained and taught tactics and techniques to not only fight but to get out of a situation or alter the plans. She could barely think for herself. How she remembered to breathe I'll never know. She's the reason it took me a week to read the book. I had to keep putting it down and walk away.
Like a light switch at the end of the book after Zara had gotten hurt and was recovering in the rebel camp outside the city it's like a damn light switch flipped. She turned into something that was respectable and was now a woman instead of this superb idiot. She was the one I wanted to read from the beginning. Someone with poise and strength and who could think beyond her own little world. She was no longer a selfish asshole, she was thinking for the greater good.
This is a YA but there are 2 cuss words in it, so maybe needs an age rating.is needed. One is the f word so not for the little ones at all. This book has soooo much potential. I can't figure out for the life of me why this is a series. It ends and there's a happy ending and a small glimpse of the future. All is good and is looking to improve, what the hell else is going to happen that it needs another book?
